I embarked on a Personal Style Project to take a look at doing something I’ve enjoyed for awhile which is Sketch and Process Photography.
I spend time doing social media and work for a friend and I wanted to start doing some work that I thought I might be able to market. I also have to do a number of case studies for my career, resume, and I want to do so for my website as well to detail a lot of the process work. It’s become a popular part of a lot of creatives social media to examine the process. To show the nitty gritty, the details, the sketches, the set up, all the tools that go into making the thing we enjoy following them for. I wanted to create a photography project around this. I’d like you to enjoy some of the work I have created in doing so below.
This first set is the over head with different lower angles to detail the variety of things I keep on my desk to make sketches, create content, or toy around with when I’m board. You’ll notice I keep a spare set of mini hands which are quite the laugh when you emerge from the dark room to joke around with roommates and friends.
The next thing I wanted to do was create some blank templates to be able to place a sketch, or other content onto, I used in place both a white piece of paper and sketch book that I use. You could use this for a logo reveal, icons, or a variety of other content.
This last part is capturing the middle of the work when it is messy and unkept as any creatives desk gets. When the work is in action and the creative juices are flowing.
